Painting a guitar question

    Im painting my p.o.s. Ibanez Gio and I was wondering if I could just use paint thinner at first to get the majority of the paint off then sand, the question is, would the paint thinner do anything bad to the wood or should I just get out the sander and do it that way?

    Man up, use 180 or 220 sandpaper. step it up grit levels as you go.
