batteries dies to quickly

    Hello, I have esp m2 Recently my batteries wich was fo about 8 month in my guitar died, because my guitar beggin to sound like crupp, then i thought it is time to change, but here is the problem I have stolen baterry from my bass and it diet in 20 minutesso I went to the grocery shop and bought 2 Duracell batteries. The first one died in 30 minutes and the next one died in 45 mnutes:evil, is there anything wrong with my guitar or i got bad batteries. The expiriy date on both bataries from grocery shop is until mar 2014

    When you took the batteries out of the guitar they were rather hot, no?
    Could be a short circuit. I have no clue about active guitar electronics, but checking all connections as forsaken said seems a good idea.
