While not the "correct" way to fix it, you can stick a few toothpicks in the hole and then screw into that.

I did this when I stripped the holes for my strap on my LTD. It worked pretty decently until those ultimately got ripped out, too. It would probably work better in your situation, though.

i would fill the holes with something and re-drill for sure, that or you can try using a little sliver of wood in there, it might give it enough to grab on to
