installing a floyd rose on an ex-400BD?

Hi. I have a 400BD that I got several years ago, and has fallen out of use a bit since I got my eclipse-II. I've gotten the idea into my head recently that I might install a floyd-rose in it, as the only guitar I currently own with a whammy on it is a crappy old Warlock. And I think it would probably look pretty badass too. But, I'm worried that the metal faceplate on the guitar will pose a problem with changing any of the hardware. Does anyone here have any experience with changing hardware on a 400BD or a guitar with a similiar plate on it? Is it considerably more of a problem than changing the hardware on a normal guitar (which i have a little experience with)? I really, really don't want to ruin my 400, so if I do decide to go through with this it might be better to get a professional to take care of it.

Kahler 7200 studmount. Most don't like kahlers but they work great for me. :)
There is some routing required. Also there are stetsbars w/o routing but they aren't the best if you are looking for something for extreme whammy use.
