How often do you guys clean your fretboards?

Just curious, I find myself cleaning it once around every week with just a normal lint-free cloth, and around once a month with lemon oil.

whenever i change strings

i wouldn't bother cleaning it every week

kgry

Yup, whenever I change strings.

hermz

Also whenever I change strings :D

DUKE

same here! i clean and condition my fretboard(s) everytime i change strings, but there's nothing wrong with a quick wipe with a cloth every often if you get quite a bit of dust on it. :)

Justinschut

I dont really, but I do usually whipe off the strings after I play and I wash my hands before I play, so my fretboards look good :)

Sixstringhotshot

Yep.

sirsloop

dust on the fretboard? You guys gotta play more often!

njrusmc

About once a month when I change strings. I use Fromby's deep cleaner followed by 2 coats of fret doctor. The better question is, how often do you all change strings?

Dæmonium

Depends on how much I'm playing, but it's usually around once a week.

Graham Nicholson

At least as often as I brush my teeth.

don't use lemon oil. use Clarinet Bore oil... it's a smaller bottle.. but if it's good enough for the very best/most expensive $10K ebony clarinets.. its good enough for any fretboard.

Fret Doctor is the way to go... :hat
