ESP EX with "EX" decal on headstock

    ESP EX with "EX" decal on headstock

    Hi guys,

    as a long-time EXP/MX-220/MX-250 afficionado I am not too familiar with the EX-shape as of 2000 onwards but the ones I have come across so far only have the "ESP" decal on the front side of the headstock. 
    However, this one here on reverb I find interesting, as it has the "EX" added after the ESP logo. https://reverb.com/item/48136969-2000s-esp-ex-std-explorer-electric-guitar-black-near-mint-w-emgs-japan 

    As I could not find any specific information on that feature, does anybody know more? When was that EX used? Is that a feature of US ESPs?
