Horizon 7 String legit?

    I'm getting some pictures in a little bit, but what are some general ways to tell if it is fake or not? It has no serial numbers, no markings other than Esp and Custom on the headstock, esp inlay on the 12th fret. It has November 2011 stamped in ink on the back side of the battery compartment cover. It has copper shielding tape under the pickups, and no markings or stamps there.

          It's an LTD MH-417, not an ESP custom. The serial number should have been on the back of the head stock, but it looks like whoever tried to pass it off as a custom covered it over or got rid of it somehow.
