ESP Inspection setup

    Recently got a signature guitar (GL Burnt Tiger) from Pitbull Audio.

    When it arrived, it was tuned to pitch, but the action was a little over a 1/4" from the fretboard.

    Took it to a luthier for a setup....he said the pickup was installed crooked, trussrod wasn't set right & the frets hadnt been dressed.

    The guitar has a label on the back of the guitar saying it was inspected here in the usa.....

    Do they usually come this way needing a full setup & fret leveling after being inspected?

    Contact the dealer you bought the guitar from. I'd expect a lot better from a $1300 guitar.

        The reviews I've seen, they said theirs was setup perfectly out of the box and pretty much perfectly in tune.

          The original ESP cardboard box was crushed a little & was taped back.  

          It was obvious the guitar & case had been taken out of the box....then reinserted when it was shipped to me.

          I won't be ordering anything else in the future from this dealer.
