KH-2 from 1996 (1993) : not a Floyd Rose Original ?

Hi,

I've found a used kh-2 for sell.

The seller says that the guitar is from 1996. Serial : K-2055 (edit: he retracted : from 1993 according to this http://www.guitarscollector.com/1993-today---esp-kh-2.html).

But he also says that the Floyd Rose is an ESP one, made in Germany by Schaller!

I was thinking that KH models always have an Original Floyd Rose...anyone aware about that ?

Here is a picture, regards !

I noticed in those larger pics he shows 2x bridges.

And one looks to be the original floyd rose that would have come with this guitar in my opinion.

I can't explain it, but it looks like a very nice guitar.

Hi all....

I am the owner of this guitar....I posted pics of the ESP Floyd rose wich came with the guitar and some original Floyd I had on my washburn N4 for a while for comparison.

I'm very interested to know about that trem, to me it looks far superior to an original Floyd (no offense to original floyds).I think it has hardened steel inserts at the pivot points and is almost twice as thick as the original.

please let us know!

maybe this would be a question for the custom shop?

He bought a separate OFR for another guitar. He posted pics with both of them to show the design differences.

But his guitar was originally delivered with the ESP trem.

From what i can read here, the M2 from 1991/1993 was delivered with an ESP licensed Floyd Rose : http://www.guitarscollector.com/1991---1993---esp-m2-skull---crossbone.html

Seems that this guitar is kind of a transition build, as it has some specs from before 1993 and some others from later.

By the way, right, looks like a nice guitar. Will give it a try !

I had a Schaller Floyd on my custom order KH-2 I ordered in 1992 and received in Spring of 1993. It was a great tremolo and performed just as well as an OFR. I don't recall if it had the ESP logo stamped on it though. I don't think it did.
