Looking for information on my pickups

    Hi all,

     

    I recently scored a like new LTD D-4 for a song, and I'm trying to find out more information about the factory pickups. I'm new to stringed instruments, but eagerly learning everything I can. I noticed that the pickups are different: Neck SB-4N Bridge SB-4B. Can anybody help explain the differences to me, and tell me if they are similar to a typical P or J style pickup? I have a good understanding of the differences in bass styles, but don't know enough about the tone to know what I have here. I do know I like the neck pickup better.

    Yes, I’m also looking for this information. Number of coils, coil configuration, etc.. I know ESP/LTD puts these pickups in a lot of their Basses up to a high price point... are they a licensed copy of something else (I’ve heard suggestions of EMGhz for one). How can we find more information about the SB pickups?
