LTD ec256 pots and caps specs

Hi there

I've recently bought a LTD ec256, vintage gold, for a great price. I like it a lot, and it plays really well.

I'd like to change the pickups and have finally made up my mind for a pair of Dimarzio's 36th Anniversary PAF.

It's my first pickup swap so I've got a couple of questions:

- Is it worth changing the pots and caps in the 256? I've read that the recommended values for Les Paul style guitars are 500k pots and 0.022 caps, but I don't know the actual value of the original pots and caps. I also know there are log and short pots, which one would fit this guitar?

- is there anything I should know or pay attention to when replacing pickups?

Thanks for your help

I don't know, you probably have 500k pots, so I don't think that should be a problem. Changing pickups is easy if you know what you're doing, just pay attention to the wiring and don't rush it.

Great guitar congrats! And yes. Change ALL the electronics if you're doing a pup swap.

Thank you guys for your answers.

FYI I just checked and the original pots are 500k. I'm still going to change all the electronics

Thanks again

Matt
