EC 331 versatility

    EC 331 versatility

    I have a EC 331 on layaway and I was wondering if it can be used for anything more than just metal? Everybody says they're only good for

    hard rock and metal but I love playing blues, the reason I picked this guitar was years ago I had a guitar with active pickups & I loved that guitar!

    As long as you can play the blues, the guitar will be able to play the blues.

      I haven't had a chance to play the ESP designed active pickups yet but I did play other active pickups from SD n EMG. Truth be told, they are indeed fantastic for metal and hard rock but compared to passives you'll have limited control over it's tonal output through a dirty channel. Still,  through the clean channel you will able to play a decent amount of blues if you want to.
