LTD Factories

Does anyone have an idea if LTD guitars are built in a Factory owned by ESP or are they built by cort-tek or a similar company?  I contacted ESP and asked them this question and a couple others (ISO certification), but have not got a response.  Does anyone else find this troubling?

Was expecting some Infos about it in this thread. Now I'm interested too^^

The Korean guitars were (are?) made at the World Musical Instruments factory.  They make guitars for numerous brands.  I'm not sure where the Indonesia guitars are made, but Cort had a factory there.  No idea about the Chinese made guitars, but I recently picked up a Chinese made EC-401b baritone which was a better guitar than I was expecting.

Well thanks for the heads up.  How did you find out this information?  Do you have any information on what working conditions are like in these factories?

I think it is probably just like Santas workshop without the elves and it probably doesnt smell like candy canes, I could be totally wrong though. Just curious why the interest?

The first reason is safety.  If a item claims to be lead free, but the manufacturer isn't held up to any standards they may build an item that isn't lead free.  The Chinese are notorious for doing this.

Secondly there is the issue of the environment.  Where is the lumber sourced?  Is this source sustainable?

Finally there is the issue with how the worker's at the factory are treated.  Cort in South Korea has already had trouble with this.  Again we all know the track record of the Chinese.

I really hope to get solid information on where these guitars are made, and what the conditions are in the facilities.  I've played ESP/LTD for almost 15 years, but I don't know if I'll ever buy another one of their guitars again.

The guitars are made by children that have been tarred and feathered, they use asbestos, lead paint, rare and sacred woods from sacred regions from around the world. Religious artifacts are destryoed and used as building materials for even the low end LTD. Once the children are of age they are fed to the Morlocks. Then your guitars are shipped.

Cheers!

I can't wait till grow up and I'm cool enough to be a slayer fan.

The korean ones are(if I am not wrong) made in the Wolrds musical instruments factory. If you go to Rob Chapman YTs channel you can see a few vids where he goes around the factory. Were the other ones are being made, I don't know.

This is the same material as the material, the wood is also divided into grades

Hi,

I am looking to buy a LTD EC-256, specially one exclusive model from one particular store. After talking with them, i realize that all EC-256 models are now made in China, and not in Vietnam like before. Not sure if this will be good for this guitar model quality. Does anyone had the experience to compare EC-256 models from China and Vietnam? Not sure if will affect only the quality of construction of if the wood quality will be also decrease.

Thank you

Albert H.

I bought my first one EC256 and it was from China and it had issues. So I got one from Indonesia what a difference. Wow tuner keys where smoother and the over all looks was better. Plays amazing.

I just got a Chinese EC-256 made last February and I haven't found any flaws so far.  https://www.facebook.com/groups/931341893563470/permalink/2298476213516691/
