Okay, I decided to make the neck a natural finish after all... Here goes nothing.
Sanding on the neck.

First coat, wet still.

Semi-dry second coat.

Letting it sit overnight, applying another coat tomorrow.
Just one question if anyone knows, how do you remove the bridge posts? I think there is a special tool required to do this but for the sake of getting stuff done, I just taped them up. Anyway, just wanted to share my project.
What I did, but I wouldn't recommend to everybody, was to take a soldering iron (mines like 30w) and just let it sit inside post for a few minutes. Then I removed the iron and placed it to the side and then quickly screwed in the pole piece thingys and gripped them with plyers (always good idea to wrap the post with some masking tape or something) and just pulled up with a gradual pressure increasing slightly with a slight wiggle motion. It should not require too much pulling strength so if it's not bulging you'll need to reapply the soldering iron for a little bit longer.
Again, I wouldn't recommend it to everybody and I'm sure there's an alternative way to do it without the special tool, but considering I was doing it with a project guitar, I wasn't too afraid of messing anything up too badly. Just use some caution.
Also, the neck looks really good...The final product should be great; can't wait to see more pics!
Okay, primer is on it. It is in the truckster stage of the paint. Now all i need to do is randomly sand on the body.

So I decided to go with a Green and Black stripe approach, such as seen on 1969 Camaros. It does not photo very well however, due to the lack of clear coat, but it is much greener than this pic shows, just gotta wait till I finish, I'm also doing 1/4 inch stripes around the big stripe. Added chrome rings and pup covers, just waiting on more parts and decals to come in before I can put on the clear coat. I figure some people will hate how it looks, but I dig the hot rod look.
