The letter at the begining of the number indicates what factory the guitar is made at (S for example means it was made at the Samick factory) and the following two numbers tell the year it was made.

That's only true with the newer models. I can't remember what year they started doing that but before that they were just random numbers.
what if i wanted to know the year of my Mh100? the seller told me it had been there for a lot of time and he doesn't remember the exact year
well. i am guessing by my viper.
i would say the first 2 numbers next to the letter.
mine says W06 as in a 2006 model.
