how do i know year by serial number

    Well last question i need to know is,at the back of the headstock were the numbers are o.k. i got that, but it looks like it says W02,so on is 02 the year?i might have answerd my own question hopefully?

      The letter at the begining of the number indicates what factory the guitar is made at (S for example means it was made at the Samick factory) and the following two numbers tell the year it was made.

        That's only true with the newer models. I can't remember what year they started doing that but before that they were just random numbers.

            i would say the first 2 numbers next to the letter.

            mine says W06 as in a 2006 model.
