EC-400VF vs. EC-1000

Is there any significant difference in these guitars? They both have SD pups (JB, 59'). Is the EC-1000 worth more than $200 more for 2 more frets, and cooler abalone trims? Thanks. By the way, I'm also a fan of those humbucker covers in the EC-400VF

Also I was referring to the Amber Sunburst EC-1000 color, I like the "vintage" classic finishes.

I was in the exact same position as you. In the end, I decided on the Ec-400VF because I was sure it was going to sound the same, if not better (the 400 has a thicker body than the 1000s).

I also have never been thrilled about 24 frets... it looks off to me (since the bridge sits further forward on the body).

Even if they were the same price, I think I'd go for the 400.

Now that I've had the guitar a few days, I'm very satisfied with my purchase. I also have a few hundred dollars to play with!

Let us know what you decide.

The 1000 has the locking TonePros bridge as well as locking tuners.

Hate locking tuners :p
