Metallica: "Hardwired"

Metallica: "Hardwired"

Metallica, the most iconic of all metal bands, has released their first new music in eight years. It's "Hardwired", the opening track from their upcoming album Hardwired ... to Self Destruct, which is slated for release on November 18. The song is inarguably a nod to the band's early thrash metal days, harkening back to albums like Kill 'Em All and Master of Puppets, with all of the glorious high-tempo badassery that you expect from this legendary band. It is, without a doubt, classic Metallica, and we can't wait to hear the rest of the album.

While it's not easy to see much detail in this fast-paced video, sharp-eyed ESP fans will note that James Hetfield is playing on his new ESP Vulture Signature Series guitar, while Kirk Hammett has picked up his old-style V guitar from the ESP Custom Shop.

Let us know what you think about the new Metallica tune in the comments below!

They are back, in my opinion it's a Good song but not one of the best they wrote. Main riff is quite simple, chorus could be more catchy and pardon me but the solo is technical but ugly. It's Still entertaining and it's a pleasure To see them back with the desire To kick asses!!!

Hardwire is most certainly a huge nod to the past. The speed and tempo mixed with the angery lyrics really makes the song work. I hope that the rest of the album is just as good. It's good to see the guys continuing to re-invent there selves with each album.
