Derek Williams on Endorsing ESP

Nashville-based guitar player Derek Williams, who is best known for his association with country star Jake Owen but has also received acclaim for his work with over 40 bands in Nashville (inclusing 18 major label artists), recently did an interview on thatsmygig.com where he spoke about the process of working with ESP as an endorsed artist.

"The standards are so stringent that I have not played a bad LTD -- even the lowest of the lowest priced ones I’ve toured with," he states. "I think that says a lot about the company/personnel and the guitars -- they really CARE about making great guitars."

WIlliams was blunt when asked why a country player would choose a guitar company more well known in the world of metal. "ESP has gained a great reputation as the most sought after guitar in the metal scene -- the reason is because metal heads, despite how awful some of their amp tone is, have impossibly high standards when it comes to guitars. Metal guitarists like to play a million notes a minute, and they demand a guitar that plays effortlessly. ESP delivers that."
